GREGORY MCNAMEE is a writer, editor, photographer, and publisher. He is the author or title-page editor of more than 40 books and author of more than 7,500 periodical pieces. He lives in Tucson, where he is the editor of Zócalo, Southern Arizona’s arts and culture magazine.

taught at Sahuarita High School from
1969-2000, when Rio Rico High School didn't exist, educating students from all over the Canoa Heritage Area.
Growin' Up Canoa is an ongoing oral history preservation project that captures stories of these students who share what life was like then, and where they are today.
